Know Who You're Dealing With
Three levels of verification on every profile, and a guardian in the loop for every under-18.

A biometric ID check (South African ID plus a live selfie). Unlocks messaging and your Discover listing, and puts the trust badge on your card.
- L2Gold Tick2–5 business days
Coaching licences and professional credentials checked by our team. Lifts your coach rating and puts you in Discover's High Trust filter.
- L3Institution verified1–3 business days

How does verification work?
There are three levels. Level 1 (ID verified) checks your South African ID and a live selfie, usually in minutes, and unlocks messaging. Coaches and professionals appear in Discover from Level 1. Level 2 (Gold Tick) is a credential check by our team and takes a few business days. Level 3 confirms a link to a verified institution. Institutions have their own accreditation levels.
How do minors use the platform?
Under-18 athletes are linked to a parent or guardian, appear by first name and initial only, and are hidden from public discovery by default. Under-18s can’t message or connect with adults until a guardian links. Guardians approve bookings and can see their child’s messages. Guardians approve new contacts: the first message from a new coach, professional or club waits for their OK. You must be 13 or older to join. A guardian can also verify their child’s identity with a Home Affairs ID match, with no biometric scan. GlobiSport is designed around POPIA.
